The tradition continues as Agostino's, the family-owned Italian restaurant since 1967, opens their newest location in Fairview Heights, IL. Agostino and Rosa Gabriele marked their entry into the restaurant business with the opening of Agostino's on the Hill in 1967. With the success of their first, the master chef and Mama Rosa decided to open their second location, Agostino's Colosseum in 1973. Not only was it known as the family's second location, but it was also known as the place to see and be seen considering they accrued the attraction of many celebrities. Their outstanding service and food quality earned them the Four Star Mobile Travel Guide Award and would become the country's first shopping center restaurant to earn such an award. The beautiful two-story brick building, located on the corner of Manchester and Clarkson, became the sight of their third restaurant and was opened in 1989. This restaurant had the privilege of serving many brunches, weddings, dinner parties, intimate gatherings, and New Year's Eve parties and received awards such as the prestigious DiRona, Mobil Dining, and Five Star Diamond awards throughout the time of operation. Mama Rosa Gabriele remains in the business with their newly established location alongside her children and co-owners, Rosa, Elena, John, and Paul. Paul Gabriele, second generation award winning chef, combines the best of the traditional recipes with the current style. Signature dishes include Medaglioni al Madeira and Flame Broiled Provimi Veal Chop Cabernet topped with fresh Boston Sea Scallops finished in a red wine reduction and garnished with grilled portobello mushrooms.
