Joey says there are key reasons for the band's success, "... it's because we're the real deal. First, we play all the right songs and we play them well. Second, the arrangements we play aren't cheesy wedding band arrangements or songs just thrown together like those of other so called "top bands." We sound just like the artists who recorded the songs. Third, we have great chemistry and amazing energy on stage.

Sound

One of the reasons Joey Scott and the Connection sounds so good is because of the sound itself. Joey's sound systems rival those of big name sound contractors – and he knows how to use them. They are state-of-the-art and Joey has three of them (one to fit every type of space and event). Most bands have only one sound system and that system may be too large or too small for the event. Joey also uses ** wireless systems and has the capability to fit event speakers with wireless body packs or handheld wireless mikes for toasts, speeches, and presentations. Most bands have * or * wireless mikes, if any, which can severely limit their performance, their ability to meet the needs of the customer, and their ability to interact with the audience.

Performance

Joey says, "No one can predict at * p.m. what will be best for the party at ** p.m." It is for that reason Joey Scott and the Connection doesn't use a predetermined set list like most other bands. Joey prides himself on his talent for calling just the right song at just the right time. It's harder on the band, but Joey calls each song from the stage - often just moments before the song is played - based on his understanding of the wants and needs of the audience. "That way, the event is the best it can be. It is unique and has a life of its own. It's not about the band or me; it's about the event. So many bands just don't get it."

Relationships

Joey has established strong relationships with the best event planners, banquet managers, and key people in the industry. Because of these relationships, Joey enjoys a certain comfort level, which really comes in handy in insuring the event runs smoothly, when dealing with many different vendors on a job – from photographers, to florists, to special event staff.

Joey is very client friendly. He listens well and understands all of his clients' needs and concerns, well before the events take place. Joey does this at his clients' convenience, sometimes face-to-face, as well as over the phone, depending on his clients' needs and timeframes. His many letters of recommendation reflect the care and concern that have helped make Joey Scott and the Connection so successful.

Choices

Joey offers many options to his clients that other bands don't have or can't offer. For example, Joey can provide cocktail music for any event using piano or a combo of any size. Wedding ceremony music can be provided with a single musician, duo, or combo. He can also provide DJ service during breaks. Even New York style entertainment is an option, with the band as is or larger, playing non-stop – no breaks. And, overtime is always available for evening events.
