It is exciting and fun to plan for the reception-the party, flowers, food and friends, but your main focus should be on your wedding ceremony. Without it you have just another get together. I honor the affection and individuality of every couple, and try to guide them to realize the ceremony is not just a one-time ritual between two people. I help couples understand that it is the actual wedding ceremony that is the most important aspect of your wedding day. Everything else is lovely embellishment and secondary to your life-long commitment to yourselves and your families. Marriage is a deeply intimate and individualized process. The ceremony is an extremely personal and distinctive statement shared with family and friends. When you take the time to symbolically and verbally reflect on the very personal meaning of your union through the process of designing your own wedding ceremony, you give yourselves the opportunity to clarify and share your deepest feelings, needs and desires with regard to these aspects of your lives. I am a Stanford University graduate, an ordained Religious Science minister/ counselor, a former California elementary school teacher and an Art Museum Curator of Education. I do pre-marital, couples and individual counseling, and facilitate "Self-esteem/Self-image" and Life-Management seminars throughout California. I am a community volunteer. I often act as a "Mission Assistant" for my husband who volunteers to fly Angel Flight Medical Missions.
