Emilio is from Puerto Rico. He came here in 1989. By 1993 he started working for the Tower Steak House in Springfield, NJ. That is where is career begun. He worked himself up to a cook and then now a chef, running his own business.

Susie started her career in 1993. She took a class for waitresses and waiters from Ian Malsick that included starting a party, napkin folding, breaking down a party, and cleaning up. Susie also came from a family where her mom always cooked from scratch. She got started with cooking from there as well as taking cooking classes in school. As a teen she also loved to plan parties.

Susie worked for corporate companies such as Chubb and Merck in their dining section and café.

Then she started working for various halls with Ian Malsick's agency and then on her own. In 1994 she started working at the Tower Steak House and met Emilio. Together they did off-premise parties. They were married in 1996 and started Parties for "U" in 1998.

Emilio does all of the grilling for Barbeques and Susie cleans and serves. For catered events Emilio and Susie do all of the cooking and planning together.
