Dorit was born in Montreal, Canada, but now lives in Dallas, Texas. She started drawing in pencil at age three and did her first portrait (her grandfather) in ballpoint at age seven.

She found her passion - the human face. Dorit studied graphic art in college, and later worked in many hotel lobbies, including the Gaylord Texan, as a portrait sketch artist . She's used pencil in the past, but now works in Tombo Markers and fine point pens. Her default color is dark sepia, which is softer than outright black. She's accurately and lovingly quick-sketched three month old babies up to seniors in their eighties. She draws on **" by **" paper. Dorit is available to entertain at parties, weddings, bar-mitzvahs, holiday events and any other event where people get together to have fun.

When Dorit is not sketching portraits she can be found in her studio painting illustrations on the computer for ad agencies, books and magazines, as well as private clients, all over the country.
