Belly Dancer Dawn Blu began her dance career in New york City under the instruction and guidance of Nourhan Sherif. It was here that she began her wonderful journey into the world of belly dance.
In 2002 she moved to Los Angeles, where she continued the study of Middle Eastern dance, while attending classes and workshops with some of L.A.'s great instructors.
In 2005 she traveled to Egypt for a better understanding of the culture and music that surrounded and influenced the Middle Eastern dance that she loved so much. Here she attended Raqs Sharki and folkloric shows and was given the opportunity to watch the dance in it's homeland. This trip gave her a deeper appreciation of the art form and inspired her to continue and enhance her dance capabilities.
She has been given the opportunity to perform all over Los Angeles and Orange County for corporate events, birthday parties, club bookings, weddings, school functions, etc... She has been featured on Telemundo and has performed for celebrities. Dawn Blu has also traveled to New York City, Puerto Rico, Vancouver and Luxor with her performances.
To this day, she recognizes and honors the instructors who helped pave the way for her unique and talented dance style, and thanks them for their encouragement.
Dawn Blu has also studied other International dance forms such as Gypsy, Samba, Bollywood, Flamenco and other Latin Dance forms.
