The most common question I am asked is "what is your photography style?" Well, that is a tricky question, because terms like "photojournalism", "documentary", and "classic" are used quite often, but everyone tends to define those terms differently. The best way to explain what I do is to tell you that I love capturing events as they unfold, and to capture all of those special moments happening throughout your day, but without becoming part of the day. I also enjoy taking "posed" photos that most of us like to hang on our living room walls and desks at work.
So this mixed style of candid, as well as, posed, is what my style is. So you can call it photojournalism or documentary style, but at the end of the day, I want to bring your day to life by capturing what really happened and with minimal interruption. I also like making photos as true to reality as possible. This includes capturing the emotions of family and guests from different angles and perspectives, but without overdoing the "artistic" approach. My philosophy is that any one style can litterly be, too much.
I am also open to suggestions throughout the day, so if you or a guest would like a posed shot in front of a table with guests, or a memorable photo with friends from high school or college, I'm happy to do that and you will never hear me say "I don't take those types of photos...". I'm easy going and very friendly, and after working full-time in the wedding industry for more than * years, I can handle most any environment or situation in the blink of an eye.
I take it as a real honor to document weddings for couples and I treat it as one of the most important events that will happen in a single day. It is a privilege to know that it will be my photos that you will display in ** or ** years as you celebrate those milestones.
