Sleeping Bee brings the sophisticated and exciting sounds of jazz, standards, bossa, and choice pop and rock to your party, restaurant, club, wedding, or any occasion. We look forward to helping you create a very special and memorable event.

Laura Valle and Steve Kirby comprise our core duo lineup, providing two vocals, guitar, and sundry hand percussion. This produces a surprisingly large and rich sound, and is the most affordable. We are always happy to discuss adding additional musicians to help pull off your event the way you envision.

Laura pours her heart into every tune, her sound landing effortlessly upon you, pleasing and inviting. Originally from Argentina, she sings in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. Her sound and presence is authentic, cosmopolitan, and pure class. Laura toured extensively throughout Europe performing as both a soloist and group member in Brazilian, jazz, tango and flamenco projects.

Steve possesses a smooth powerful croon in his own right, with noticeable influence from personal idols such as Sinatra and Mark Murphy. Always exploring more interesting and beautiful ways to play the same tunes on guitar, Steve's approach is sensitive and spirited, in tune with the venue, employing a percussive bass line-laden style which make your ears do a double-take, searching for additional musicians that aren't actually there.

Sleeping Bee boasts long and broad experience as professional musicians, bringing knowledge and appreciation of a wide range of styles beyond jazz and standards, including indie, alternative, rock, country, and folk selections.
