A popular theory holds that it is derived from the initials of Port Out, Starboard Home, The cooler, and thus more expensive side of ships traveling between England and India in the mid-19th century. The acronym POSH was supposedly stamped on the tickets of first-class passengers traveling on that side of ships owned by the Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigationpany. It was the best of amodations available.
After 25 years of preparing food, beverage and luxury services, A Posh Affair- Gourmet Catering, Wedding and Event Planning, is the culmination of ideas from the industry's best. Starting at The Culinary Institute of America, where I trained and received my degree in culinary arts, all through the demanding kitchens of some of America's finest chefs, where I was fortunate enough to train in, followed by years of research and production in my cateringpanies and restaurants, I bring you A Posh Affair.
Whether your desire is for us to produce a custom designed dinner party at home for your dearest friends, or cater your Wedding, Bar/ Bat Mitzvah, or corporate gala, A Posh Affair can produce results with the highest level of detail and excellence. From planning your wedding's décor and theme, to putting the final touch on your chef designed menu, our professional staff will work with you to create any POSH atmosphere you ask of us.
Speaking of our highly motivated and trained staff, you will find them very personable, and caring. I train them to provide a service that they can be proud of. This is possible by never cutting corners. In the kitchen, this means homemade, at your event, it's the highest quality of rentals, linen and services. I have had the time and experience to know the difference quality makes, and your guests will notice as well. We take pride in handling all of the details of your event, which allows you to be a guest at your event too.

Chef Milano has been working in the foodservice industry for over 20 years. A graduate of the prestigious Culinary Institute of America, He has worked with some of the most famous chefs in the country. Chef Milano successfullymanded top restaurants like the The Park Avenue Café, NYC- Mark's Las Olas Smith And Wollensky's Steakhouse and Chowders Fine Seafood Restaurant. In 2005, chef Milano opened Chooks Gourmet Market in Boca Raton and Ft. Lauderdale. His concept prepared, fresh entrees and gourmet meals was an instant hit with numerous reviews from the Sun-Sentinel and other local publications. He also opened Distinguished Palate Catering, an upscale cateringpany, successfully serving the most detail oriented clientele. After merging his cateringpany with Galley Catering LLC, a whole new niche has been reveiled. The ability to cater to both land based and maritime(yachting industry) clientele, supplying gourmet catering from a few to hundereds of your guest.
Chef Milano takes pride in overseeing all of his customer's functions from planning to execution. I have a strict policy of making food from scratch, the way I was trained, and that's how I teach my staff .
