A seasoned performer, Nazaneen is well loved for her ability to deliver show-stopping, high energy dancing that is simultaneously engaging, entertaining, graceful and studded with strong technique. Her dance vocabulary is deeply rooted in the traditional dances of the middle east that form the basis of contemporary belly dance as well as ballet and jazz techniques to bring you an authentic, dynamic and polished performance in any setting from weddings to private parties and restaurant venues.
As a teacher, Nazaneen is widely sought out not only for her skill, but also for her patience and ability to translate theplex movements of Middle Eastern dance in a way that is tailored to the student. She strongly believes that dance is meant to be enjoyed by all and that with the right training anyone can enjoy the physical and mental health benefits of dance.
Nazaneen now brings her expertise to the pacific northwest, where she both teaches and performs various middle eastern dance forms, including modern and classical Egyptian Raqs Sharqi (belly dance), various Arabic folk dances as well as Persian classical and folk dance.
Training and background
Born to an Iranian mother, Nazaneen was raised in a household filled with middle eastern culture and dance. She began her training in Raqs Sharqi (belly dance), pan-Arabic folk dances and Persian folkloric styles in early childhood under the guidance of her mother and grandmother. As a teenager, Nazaneen began to pursue her dance goals further, studying with various renowned instructors across the United States. Since then, Nazaneen has continued to expand her dance education, studying intensively with some of the biggest names in Middle Eastern dance, including grand master Mahmoud Reda. Professionally, Nazaneen is passionate about furthering the art of Middle Eastern dance in the United States and across the globe with a focus on preserving the cultural roots of the dance and delivering authentic, high-class performances that reflect these cultural roots.

Full Oriental Routines:
Egyptian, Lebanese, Turkish or Greek style. This includes a grand entrance, followed by traditional or pop music, use of a prop (more on that below) and a drum solo. Any of these elements can be requested individually and tailored to your event.

Arabic: Raqs al Assaya, Khaleeji, Raqs Baladi, Malaya Leff Persian: Classical Persian court dance, Ghasem Abadi, Bandari, Baba Karam, Kereshmeh

Zills/Sagat/Finger cymbals, cane (assaya), veil, Isis wings, shamedan (candleabra), candle balancing, sword balancing, dancing on wine glasses

Specialty Performances:

Zeffa: The traditional Arabic wedding procession featuring one (or more) dancers dancing with shamedans (candelabras).
