So, my dearly beloved and I were sitting down and reminiscing about our wedding and I said to him "I hope you gave Gil & Joe some good feedback" and he replies "What the h*** are you talking about?" In true newlywed fashion, I had forwarded this email to my husband and he thought that I had taken care of it already. So I apologize that our feedback is about 5 months late. I guess it is back to Communication 101 for us. You guys were great, not too intrusive or cheesy. Our guests had a great time dancing and had nothing bad to say about the music. Joe and Gil asked us for feedback, both the good and the bad, about their service as DJs at our wedding. They said they wanted to know how they could improve their service. Unfortunately, I really can't think of anything to put in the "bad" category about these guys. My wife and I (and our guests!) could not have been more satisfied. Although we of course wanted talented DJs (and got them), there was a second, even greater consideration that weighed heavily in our choice. Shannon, my wife, was getting progressively more stressed every month of our year-long engagement as we dealt with more and more details for the wedding. We first chose Brother DJ because I felt after talking to Gil that they would remove the stress from one aspect of the wedding. I could not have been more right. From the very start Gil and Joe were inobtrusive and overwhelmingly helpful. They helped us to realize the sort of planning needed to make a wedding run smoothly while simultaneously making the task seem easy and manageable. We talked about a schedule of events, about the kind of wedding we would have, about the size, every possible relevant detail. They made the process make sense and feel under control, but managed to keep it flexible (when the day actually came, it turned out to be very flexible indeed). Besides being helpful, they were also very willing to work within what we wanted at our wedding. Our tastes are massively eclectic, but the few things we dislike, we wanted absolutely no part of at the wedding. Gil and Joe met with us personally before the wedding, after communicating via phone and email, and discussed our musical tastes with us. The discussion was low-key, conversational, natural, and nonetheless probing. By the end, they had gone beyond taking away a playlist of songs we wanted to hear; they had genuinely grasped our musical tastes so well that they were ultimately able to produce a natural, fluid blend of everything from early jazz to modern electronic dance music. At the wedding they arrived early and well-prepared. They managed to lead the party naturally without hanging on the mic or forcing people to move along to the next part of the schedule. Everything from the bridal party entrance to the first dance to the last came smoothly and blended well with what came before. Many of our guests have expressed to me that it was one of the most fun weddings they have ever attended, and both my wife and I attribute a large part of that to excellent work Brother DJ did for us.
