JEFFREY BRIAR

Jeffrey's lookalike career began in 1979 when he joined an international Laurel and Hardy lookalike act portraying Stan Laurel. A two-year tour included performances in Europe, throughout Canada and the USA; at fairs and festivals as well as in international films and TV commercials. He is regarded as perhaps the finest Stan Laurel impersonator in the world, and is featured in the advertising campaign for "Tikkurilla," a large paint company based in Finland.

In 1981, he added the character of Charlie Chaplin to his lookalike repertoire, when he understudied the IBM Chaplin and began performing at a large theme park near Disneyland in Southern California. He went on to work at Universal Studios Tour, and has since performed over 2,000 appearances as Chaplin, including episodic television, films, advertising campaigns, and many corporate events.

In 1984, he added Inspector Clousseau (the Peter Sellars character) to his stable of lookalike characters, originally performing with the "California Mystery Train." He has since performed Clousseau many hundreds of times, including as a featured character in Customized Murder Mystery Events which Jeffrey writes, produces, directs, and casts. As Clousseau, Jeffrey recently did a comedy roast for the outgoing Chief of Police of Laguna Beach (in which city Jeffrey currently resides).

In 1997, Jeffrey introduced a role merging his acting/lookalike abilities with his accomplishments as a pianist (he's been playing since age 8). Now, "Beethoven Speaks!" Jeffrey performs a one-man show in which he recreates the character of the immortal composer, Ludwig van Beethoven, relating Beethoven's life and times, politics and economics, art and culture - including musical examples, performed live at the piano, of works of Beethoven, his predecessors, contemporaries and followers (including Bach, Mozart and Wagner). "Beethoven Speaks!" is profoundly inspiring, informative and entertaining.
