DFM Photography (DFM) specializes in weddings and on-location portraiture. DFM has been located in Lawrence, KS, since 1988. From 1990 to 1995, McKinney was the primary photographer for major recruitment and public relations efforts at the University of Kansas. Today, McKinney is a successful working photographer and graphic designer. He is the sole proprietor of DFM Photography.

DFM offers professional wedding and portrait photography in Traditional, Romantic, and Journalistic styles. A Hasselblad H1 (645 medium format camera) is used for all formal wedding and portrait photography. Digital photography is used for the candid and journalistic styles. 35mm cameras are available as supplementary equipment and backup. DFM always visits the wedding rehearsal to get a final confirmation on times and location. At the rehearsal DFM makes photography logistic decisions based on the structure of the wedding rehearsal and prior consultations with the client.
