Flippo since 1992 when it introduced Chicago to its globaljazz world fusion with two CD's on Southport Records: Tendrils of Light and Ganesh.

Since then, Flippo's development as a singer has spawned two additional CD's of vocalpositions,The Heart is Strong and Tao Tunes, to be released in November 27, 2011. Tao Tunes returns to Flippo's world-theme with the setting of ancient Chinese texts -- the Tao Te Ching. Full of timeless observations and wisdom as well as energy and humor, the music touches on 10 different styles, including Latin, jazz, funk, ambient and rock.
The range of Dave Flippo's experience and education makes him one of Chicago's most extraordinary and popular pianists. Mr. Flippo holds a Doctorate and Masters from the U. of MI and the Eastman School of Music inposition and piano. For over twenty years he has worked with some of the Chicago area's top agents and musicians, performing at the finest area hotels, banquet halls and restaurants for numerous weddings, corporate events, family events, bar mitzvahs and conventions. He has also performed at numerous, more casual , Chicago area piano bars and area jazz clubs. He has also recorded several CD's of original material with Southport Records, Oppilf Records and Inner Light Music.
Dave isfortable with all styles of music and situations--be it an elegant, formal evening or a more casual, eclectic celebration. He can perform a collection of energetic jazz standards and classic show tunes or can play a set of popular classics and piano bar favorites he is perfectlyfortable designing a program that fits the client's vision. He also has a full repertoire of classical, ethnic and holiday music if so desired. A portable piano and PA is available, if required.
