Helicopter Rides

Owned and operated by Mr. Jonathan Prox, Enterprise Helicopters, LLC is in business to provide a commercial helicopter service to the Wiregrass Area and Tri-State Region and we fly the legendary Bell 47. Our Bell 47 “Super” G model is equipped with a 235 HP Franklin engine providing additional power for hot weather flying typical for this area. We have our own ground support equipment and trained personnel to provide a safe and efficient environment for all operations.

A little about our owner/pilot, Jon turns fifty one this year and he has been flying since 1970. He holds an Airline Transport Pilot rating in multi-engine Airplanes and a Commercial Flight Instructor rating in Helicopters. He has given over 2000 hours of flight instruction in helicopters of all types and has over 2000 hours in the Bell 47 alone, his favorite. In addition to Enterprise Helicopters, Jon is a Flight Instructor with Lear Siegler Services teaching Army aviators how to fly in bad weather in the Advanced Instrument Division. Jon also enjoys talking about helicopters and gives character-building talks to various social groups using helicopter aerodynamics as analogies. With over 6000 hours of experience though, Jon says he is still learning.

Enterprise Helicopters, LLC has been operating in Enterprise, AL for the past three years. We do flight training for the advanced student offering Commercial Pilot and Certified Flight Instructor ratings. In addition to flight training we fly power-line patrols, aerial photography and give helicopter rides by appointment or at community and corporate events. All these activities fit the Bell 47 perfectly. However, we would like to grow our business in areas of instrument training, real-estate surveys, local and state government contracts and a Part 135 Air-Taxi operation. A Bell 206B JetRanger is our helicopter of choice. Although there are several helicopter maintenance facilities around, Enterprise Helicopters is the only commercial helicopter business serving the public in southeast Alabama.
