Calypso & Reggae Bands

Grantman and the Island Beat is a Reggae band base in Phx Az. We perform many of the popular reggae hit's, by Bob Marley, Jimmy Cliff, UB40, Maxie Priest, Inner Circle, and many more popular Reggae artist. We also do some soka,which is a lot like Calypso, song's like Hot Hot Hot, by Sparrow and Every tub by Jimmy Cliff, we also do remakes of hit's of the past song's that most people can relate too, song's that were not reggae song's, we create a reggae groove and beat, and our fan's love it, such Song's by Smokey Robinson, and the Beatles to mention a couple and we cover other artist as well.We're all most done with our first all original CD, whenplete, we will send party pop a copy.
This band is dedicated to bring the best to their fan's what ever the occasion, we do weddings, parties, receptions, birthday parties, we even have our on reggae birthday song that I wrote. Grantman and the Island Beat have been performing since the early 90's, even though we've under gone some changes since the start, the band sounds better than ever.
Grantman lead vocalist and front man / manager, lived in Liberia West Africa in his teen's and never got it out of his system, being African, reggae came very natural to him and became his favorite music, and he's been jamming to it every since, he's the only original member and founder. Kinga keyboardist/backup vocalist, have been with the band about fifth teen year and jamming it. Kellar guitarist,/back up vocalist / drummer, all drums are sample drums of the highest quality and the drums song's great and all way's in time, giving the band a polished sound, Kellar have been with the band about four year's.
Ray bassist/ back vocalist, this bassist lays down the groove like only Ray can, right in the pocket, to keep you on the dance floor, Ray have been with the band about five years. The band consist of four member's, but sound's like at least eight due to modern technology and musical know how of the musician's. We're not a cheap band but because we have broken it down to four members,we're able to keep our price's affordable, $1,500.00 for four hour's, and of course depending how for we have to travel, our prices can go up some what, prices are negotiable.
