Pianists

Howard Herman has a long-standing engagement as Solo Pianist and Bandleader (Howard Herman Trio, featuring vocalist, Barbara Jones) at the prestigious Citrus Club in Orlando.

Since moving to Central Florida in 1986 Howard has been a featured pianist in every major resort, hotel and private club in the area. In addition to duties with the Jimmy Dorsey and Sammy Kaye Orchestras, he has played the Premier Cruise Line, the Mississippi Queen and on the S.S. Independence in Hawaii.

Howard has performed as keyboardist for Regis Philbin at the Maxwell King Center, Melbourne; accompanist for Nichele Nichols and George Takei (STAR TREK), Los Angeles; and Marty Brill, New York. He also founded and directed the internationally acclaimed choral group, "A SHOW OF HANDS, USA." Venues included Dodger Stadium, the Los Angeles Olympics, Switzerland, and two nationally televised performances in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

While living in Los Angeles he was also Director of Teacher Training for the Roger Williams International Music Centers, orchestrated film scores for the Walt Disney Company, composed and was Musical Director for "The Enchanted Toy Shop", a musical stage play for children's theatre, as well as "Silver," a musical version of "Treasure Island, " which was optioned for Broadway.

Howard earned his B.A. from New york University majoring in Music Theory and minoring in Education. He received his M.A. in Composition from Long Island University. He did undergraduate work at Berklee College of Music in Boston and postgraduate work at U.C.L.A.

Starting at age sixteen in New York, Howard began his professional career as a recording artist for Fargo and Dot Records. He also performed as a studio music for several other labels, including United Artists. He also performed at many venues in the Greater New York area for concerts and private gatherings.
