I stumbled across John DeMers at an Italian festival in San Jose a while back. Before I even saw him, I heard his voice from a distance, and just assumed it was a Sinatra recording. I said to myself, "Nobody will ever sound that great again in my lifetime." As I got closer to the stage, I realized that it wasn't Sinatra's voice I was hearing...it was the voice of John DeMers.
I've since had the pleasure of booking this extraordinary performer for events I've produced, and have recommended him for many others.
When the Ambassador of Italy got snowed in and had to cancel his appearance at a sold-out luncheon I was hosting in his honor, I knew I had to find someone who could wow the crowd and make them forget that they had just laid out a lot of money to see someone that wasn't going to show. With less than twelve hours notice, John DeMers put together a show, drove 50 miles to get to the venue, and gave a performance that entertained and astounded a room full of community leaders, politicians, celebrities, and others who had come to meet an international diplomat. The Mayor of San Francisco, who was John's "opening act," couldn't stop raving about him.
I'm tempted to say that he's just a silly so-and-so because I want to keep him all to myself, but a talent like John DeMers can't be kept hidden from the world any more than Sinatra himself. Do your self a favor and hire this guy for your event. Your boss will think you're a genius for discovering him.
