The direct, Hebrew translation of our name is ''Colors of Life'', and that is exactly what our dancers bring to the table as they pay tribute to Israeli and Jewish heritage with traditional and contemporary movements.

Profile

Artistic Director, Eytan Avisar, presents original choreography, fusing contemporary Jewish folk dance with contemporary Israeli dance. Founded in 1983, Keshet Chaim has been celebrating Israeli and Jewish culture for thirty years. Poetry, music, art, and culture are embraced and showcased in their multi-ethnic forms with this company that hopes to combat anti-Semitism and prejudice through movement.

Our dancers believe that placing more emphasis on cultural diffusion and artistic values are essential to bettering society and the company's mission is to extend and preserve cultural and ethnic heritage of dance and music from the diverse and various communities of the Jewish Diaspora. As pioneers in Jewish dance development, Keshet Chaim aims to teach and show how rich communities are with cultural heritage. Their repertoire is an extensive collection of dances where each piece represents an aspect of the Israeli and Jewish people. "Jerusalem" of Gold is a pleasure and "Queen of Sheba", a delight.

Having performed for the 1984 Summer Olympics, the International Hadassah Convention, and ath the Greek Theatre, to name a few, LA Splash magazine heralded the ensemble as "powerful and polished, and Eilat News said they put on an "outstanding show." As a non-profit contemporary dance company, they've consistently drawn on the timeless themes of Jewish culture to perform for audiences around the world with ethnic contemporary movement, melody, and rhythm. So come out to a show or have us dance for your next event because reveling in a people's history is a wonderful activity for people of all ages, races, backgrounds, and nationalities.
