Kim's natural musicianship and disciplined approach make for an outstanding solo flute performance. Equally skilled in western classical music as well as traditional Arabic stylings, she has been praised for her vibrant tone and clean technique.

Ms. Sopata graduated with honors from Northwestern University, where she studied under Chicago Symphony members Walfrid Kujala and Richard Graef. She holds a Master's degree in Ethnomusicology with an emphasis in Middle-Eastern music.

A dedicated chamber musician, she is a founding member of the Sapphire Woodwind Quintet, the Avanti Duo with guitarist James Baur, and the Allemande Duo with international award winning violinist David Yonan.

Her recent appearances have included The White House, The Kennedy Center, and a private performance for HRH Queen Rania of Jordan. She is also a member of The American Federation of Musicians, The National Flute Association, and The Chicago Flute Club.

In addition to her solo flute performances, she also provides private instruction for flute, piccolo and recorder.

Kim is happy to work with clients to find the perfect mix of musicians and repertoire for any event. When combined with a harp, piano, or guitar, playing styles are almost endless. Starting at just $450 for a duo, musical selections range from classical to jazz, Broadway hits to pop favorites.
