Lynell’s first pictures were done with a black and white instant Polaroid in the early 70’s.

The subject was usually some of the farm cats, dogs or horses.

If you were to thumb through the scrapbook of her life (so far), those pictures would show her high school friends goofing around, her college years including stints behind a microphone at the University of Nebraska’s radio station and working years doing radio, then switching to newspaper design and composition at a weekly in southwest Nebraska.

A change in her husband’s career brought her to southeast Nebraska and a switch in her career.

When offered the opportunity to merge her love of photography, eye for posing and composition and knowledge of photography special effects and digital enhancements via PhotoShop, the idea appealled to her and she purchased a portrait photography and a custom framing business in April of 2002.

While the traditional portrait poses are always available, Lynell loves to look at life’s adventures through different points of view. When the poses seem to be over, don’t be surprised to find her continue shooting the simple acts of having your lipstick re-applied, cooling off in front of the church fans or the changing of a baby’s clothing, “One of my favorite wedding portraits shows a ringbearer who would only look at the floor with a full pout. It was a ‘snapshot’ of his mood on this day and it makes you laugh everytime you look at it.”

Her works cover the full range of portrait photography: Children, family, wedding, seniors, pets and special events such as proms.

She is also one of the few places in southeast Nebraska that provides instant Passport photos.

Lynell is a member of the Professional Photographers Association.
