Marilyn Selby Bennett was born in Richland County in Olney, Illinois. Since Marilyn’s mother taught music privately and in public school music has always been a part of Marilyn’s life.

Marilyn graduated from Newton Community High School and has a Bachelor of Science degree in education with a Major in music from Eastern Illinois University. She holds a Master’s degree in Music from Millikin University and has been diaconal minister for the United Methodist Church in Illinois and Wyoming.

For the last 17 years Marilyn has been concentrating on the study and performance of harp and has played in many different areas of Illinois in wedding, services, dinners and celebrations of many kinds. Eight years ago she was employed for 3 ½ months at a resort hotel in Okinawa Japan and performed nightly. She has been to Seattle WA, Prague in the Czech Republic, Michigan, Louisiana, Ohio and many other interesting places while continuing her education.

Marilyn has released three recordings of harp music: “The Gift of Love”, “Angels Among Us”, and “Sustaining Faith”. All are available on CD or

cassette.
