Weddings
Your wedding day is one of the most memorable days of your life and the distinctive sound of the bagpipes is sure to pronounce the joy of your wedding. Kirk would be honored to play at your wedding whether it is in a church, on a lakeshore, or at any other venue.
For a wedding held in a church, the bagpiper usually plays for 20-30 minutes as the guests arrive and as the bride enters the church, and for another 20-30 minutes during the receiving line and as the guests depart. For an outdoor wedding, the bagpipes are an excellent option for your ceremony's music. Whether before and after, for the processional and recessional, or at any other time, the bagpipes can enrich your wedding and make it truly memorable.
Biography
Kirk Brunson began playing the bagpipes in 2002 at the age of eight. One year later he started lessons with sought after piping instructor Pipe Major Adam Holdaway and has since progressed to the semi-professionalpetition level (as graded by the Eastern United Pipe Band Association). In 2006, Kirk had the opportunity to join the Stuart Highlanders and has played with them as they have rapidly progressed from grade 5 (beginner) to grade 2 (semi-professional) now being New England's premier pipe band and one of the top pipe bands in United states.
In addition to playing throughout the US and Canada with the Stuart Highlanders, Kirk has also had a successful solo career with prizes including numerous piper of the day awards, first place overall year-end standing awards, and performances at the US Junior Solo Pipingpetition and the Robert Gilchrist Memorial Challenge. From this experience and the tutelage of Adam Holdaway, Kirk is advancing quickly and is one of the Northeast's most promising young bagpipers.
Kirk also has a great deal of experience playing at nonpetitive events. Some of the events he has played for in the past include weddings, funerals, memorial services, graduations, Robert Burns dinners, private parties, summer camp activities, andpany events. Additionally, he has also performed in a number of concerts throughout the US and Canada as a member of the Stuart Highlanders.
