Kelvin is the owner and lead photographer for Phoetic Memories. When he formed thepany several years ago, he had one vision in mind: To Capture Each Moment with Radiant, Romance, and Rhythm (R's).
Kelvin is not like most other photographers, he did not start at an early age, nor did he get a degree in photography. He graduated with a Bachelor degree from The University of Texas at Austin. It was not until his wedding day that Kelvin realized he had a special gift. Weeks before the wedding day, Kelvin was researching which camera to buy, what setting to use outdoors, and how to pose groups. Why? He was on a budget and could not hire a professional photographer. He spent countless hours researching and studying how to operate a camera, lighting conditions, and posing positions. Without going into great details, lets just say he has mastered the material. With his technical background and strong understanding of how software application works, he quickly learned the skills to be a photographer.
At the beginning of his photography career, Kelvin focused on portraitures and head-shots. His earlier photographs were great but not excellent. It lacked Romance, and Rhythm. In 2008, a model hired Kelvin to update her model portfolio. After the meeting, Kelvin reviewed the images and was speechless. The images captured were amazing. It had all three elements: Radiant, Romantic, and Rhythmical. He called her on the phone and she came the next day to review the images. That meeting was the key turning point for thepany and one of the best (learning) sessions
Kelvin believes everyone can take pictures but it takes a trained and talented eye to capture the 3 R's. Take a look at his images in his portfolio. He believes every photograph should must tell a story and each story should be exciting. His goal in taking photographs is to capture the true feelings with the emotions of that moment from all angles. He wants his clients to look at the pictures and know exactly how they felt in that moment after days or even years have passed. To him, that is the essence and beauty of journalistic photography.
