This a system of self defense that is based on developing and improving the mind and body to efficiently function as one. We focus on teaching martial arts that are applicable to daily life self defense situations both physical and mental.
This Chinese dance known as the Lion Dance is based on ancient rituals that are used to drive away evil spirits or bad energy. There is a specific costume that they wear for the sole purpose of driving away the spirits. Every part of the costume has a purpose and significance. The musicians are also an important part of the dance for they provide the energy that is directed toward the ritual. Some of the popular instruments used in this dance are the drum, cymbals and the gong. The overall purpose of the dance is to force out undesired energy. These techniques have been passed down from generation to generation or inherited through a family of lineage.
We perform dances for many different events such as weddings, anniversaries, cocktail parties, banquets, festivals, educational presentations, parades, picnics, promotionals, political events, holidays, house parties and bar/bat mitvas. We are one of the main attractions of the annual Chinese New Year parade in Chinatown. Our Lions have appeared at major Federal agencies in the Washington metropolitan area including the Social Security Administration, the FBI and the CIA, and are regularly called upon by the Smithsonian Museum and the Kennedy Center for a variety of cultural affairs.
Wong Lions have also performed for both NBA and WNBA half-time shows throughout the mid-Atlantic region. Let us bring prosperity and good fortune to the opening of a new business venture, a wedding reception, the start of any major undertaking, or give a child a birthday to remember forever and much more.
We can be reached 20 hours per day 7 days per week from 10 am to 4 pm.
