Anarkali is available for weddings, birthday parties, holiday celebrations, bridal and baby showers, bachelorette parties, cultural events, and other festivities. Each show is customized to suit the occasion and audience. A typical show would be 15 – 30 minutes, and would incorporate dancing with a veil, finger cymbals, and a cane, to traditional and modern Arabic music. Smaller parties and showers could include a basic belly dance lesson. The price of a performance depends on the length and complexity of the show, and the location of the venue.
Anarkali is a passionate performer of classic belly dance, strongly inspired by the Egyptian cabaret style and subtly influenced by Spanish, Turkish, and Persian dance. Her style is elegant, sensual, flirtatious and fun. She has studied traditional Middle Eastern dance for 10 years under renowned instructors including Yasmin, Gamila El Masri, Yousry Sharif, Artemis Mourat, and Laurel Victoria Grey, and also has training in ballet, tap dance, flamenco, Argentine tango and other Latin dances. She began her performance career as a member of the Silk Road Dance Company, and has performed at Warner Brothers Studios in Hollywood, the Kennedy Center stage in Washington D.C., Arabic restaurants and clubs in New York City including the Ibis, Cleopatra, Mezzo Mezzo, and Lafayette Grill, and other exciting locales as far away as Turkey.
