Moving to New York in 2004 to pursue a career in modeling, Alimah began to study Oriental Dance through the use of dvd's and 'how to books' as she also researched many articles and sites pertaining to the culture of the dance. "I became so fascinated with the way Oriental Dance allowed women to gracefully express themselves through movement, and I became even more hypnotized by the origin of the dance and how it allowed women to celebrate their femininity," says Alimah, who still dedicates much of her time to reading updated dance articles and studying videos of dancers that she greatly admires.

In 2005, Alimah began taking classes at the world renowned Serena Studios, where she studied Turkish and Egyptian style dance intensively with Zenaide, Ayana Amin, and the legendary Serena Wilson herself. It wasn't long before Alimah was offered opportunities to perform at parties held by Serena showcasing her best dancers. Zenaide was the greatest influence in pushing Alimah to perform solo giving her many opportunities to do so.

Alimah has showcased her magnificent talent in many Middle Eastern dance venues including Kush, Café Figaro, Katra Lounge, Cleopatras, Tagine, Mezzo Mezzo, The Grisly Pear and Dillons and has performed at a host of private parties and events around the world including in Paris, South Africa and Costa Rica. Alimah brings a unique beauty and grace to each one of her performances allowing her inner glow to radiate out into her audience through each movement she articulates.
