How early should I send out invitations if a lot of guests are out of town/state?

When it comes to reunion parties, sending out invitations early and planning ahead are absolutely crucial for guest attendance and the overall success of the party. Whether you’re planning a High School reunion or a family reunion, the point is to get all your guests from whatever city they’re living in and whatever busy schedules they’re leading together all in one place on the same night. In order to do this you will have to give your guests plenty of time in advance to plan, around 9-14 months. If you feel silly sending out your invitations a year in advance, you can always start by sending out “Save the Dates” first, so guests can keep the date in mind, and then send out the actual invitations 6 months before the date.
