Is it necessary to include the bride and groom’s parents’ names on the invitations?

This is one of those things that isn’t completely necessary, but is a usual practice. Think of how great a parent feels when he sees his name on his child’s wedding invitations, especially if he helped pay for the wedding. If however, you are not very close with your parents and they were not involved in the wedding planning at all, you don’t have to feel obligated to write their names just because they are your parents.
