Shahrazad is a professional performer and instructor in the New York City metro area. She performs Raks Sharki (Egyptian style). Her specialty is her unique sword technique, performing for a complete drum solo with accuracy and ease while balancing a large sword on her head. She also performs a sensual and hypnotic show using the sword and recently began incorporating an amazing two swords performance. Her double sword act is used with perfect technique and accuracy. Shahrazad's dramatic and sensual performance with two swords will impress any onlookers. Wings, cane, zills, and veils are also used in her performances. Different shows are offered depending on the request of the client.

Shahrazad captivates and hypnotizes her audience, leaving them to experience her amazing mystical interpretation of the dance. Her unique style and uplifting energy has clients hiring her for other upcoming events!

Shahrazad teaches beginner, intermediate, and advance classes. She loves to give herself freely imparting all of her secrets to her students, who are very important to her. She continues exploring the art of belly dancing, by continually updating her skills to pass along to her students. She attends dance work shops regularly to keep up to date what is happening in the dance world.

Shahrazad has her own entertainment agency, with lovely talented belly dancers. She specializes in corporate events, group performances, weddings, birthdays etc. Her dancers are all very talented and love working together offering a variety of group performances. They give a wonderful show that will take your breath away.

Shahrazad has been dancing for eight years. She has a background in ballet, jazz, and tap. She also practices yoga on a regular basis and is in the process of becoming a certified personal trainer and health fitness group instructor. She loves to motivate and encourage others to improve their skills. When she discovered the art of belly dance, she knew in her heart, that this would be her life long journey. Shahrazad gives credit to all of her wonderful teachers who have inspired and motivated her to pursue her dream. She has studied with Dalia Carella, Yousry Sharif, Gamila El Masri, Sandra Catena, Samara, and Nadia Moussa.

Her first love is karate and kick boxing. She has a black belt in American Go ju by Master Joseph Craig, six degree black belt. Shaharazad's brother has a black belt in Go Ju Ru in which she followed his foot steps, by competing in national tournaments and teaching martial arts. Her love of these arts are filled with love and dedication. Discovering the art of belly dance has been an uplifting experience that has filled her heart with joy, laughter and love.
