Surprise Christmas Party Wedding |
This is actually MY story.
Fall, 2005 my husband and I decided to get married. In addition to our party store, we also own a Choose and Cut Christmas Tree Plantation. We sent out invitations to a "Casual Get Together", not telling anyone (except our children) that it was actually going to be a wedding. (We had dated about six years).
After everyone arrived, we gathered them all together and thanked them for coming to our "Christmas Party". We then introduced everyone and told how they fit into our lives. We then introduced the judge and she stepped up and married us. The entire room was silent and then a big cheer went out. Some thought since we were overdressed (my husband in a tux and I was wearing a black cocktail dress) that he was going to propose. SURPRISE! Also, the week prior to the wedding my husband had a severe attack of vertigo and the entire evening he was hanging on to someone or something.
The story of our wedding has been told over and over by our friends there. And the ones that had to decline our "party invitation" were devastated to find out they had missed our wedding.
It was a wonderful party and a wedding to remember. We are about to celebrate our first anniversary and everyone is asking what we are going to do for an encore!
